United Way of Etowah County
We’re improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
Our Impact
Youth Opportunity
Education is the cornerstone of individual and community success, but with more
than 1.2 million children dropping out each year, America faces an education
crisis. United Ways are committed to taking control of this crisis.
In 2024, over 18,000 age appropriate books were delivered to the mail boxes of over 1,500
children in Etowah County.
Healthy Community
You never know if a neighbor is without health insurance, a victim of abuse, or someone
struggling with mental illness or an addiction. No matter the situation, United Ways are
working to ensure everyone has access to affordable and quality care.
17,250 hot, nutritious meals were delivered to homebound seniors in our community.
Community Resiliency
It can be difficult to know that a safety net is hard to acquire, although it remains essential.
It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future, and
United Ways supports all who help to keep people thriving in their life.
Financial Security
As many as one-third of working Americans do not earn enough money to meet
their basic needs. For families walking a financial tightrope, they may be unable
to save for college, a home, or retirement, but United Ways are here to help.
1,801 Etowah County residents received budgeting assistance and education in 2024.
