Simply put, United Way of Etowah County provides a comprehensive network of health and human

service programs for residens in Etowah and Cherokee County. These programs are vital to the well-

being of our local residents and our community.

We Are Local

Everything about your United Way is local. Contrary to what some may believe, United Way organizations are not chapters of United Way Worldwide.

Each one operates independently—so United Way of Etowah County is governed by local volunteers just like you. Every decision, from how

donations are invested to which programs we support, is made by people who live and work right here in our community. We know the needs of

Etowah County because we live them too. Our Community Partners are carefully chosen to reflect the most pressing needs in our area. Since every

community is different, we ensure that the organizations we support are uniquely suited to serve our region. This local approach allows us to be more

responsive, more effective, and more impactful—because the solutions come from within the community. When you give to United Way of Etowah

County, 99% of your contribution stays in our community to fund local programs and services. The remaining 1% goes to United Way Worldwide,

allowing us to remain a United Way in good standing and access national resources and support. In return, they hold us to the highest standards of

financial accountability and transparency.

Together, We Make an Impact

Your support fuels change that is felt across our neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces. With your help, we are building a stronger, healthier, and

more equitable Etowah County—one life at a time.

Why United way

We all have a stake in the well-being of our community. We all benefit when a child succeeds in school, when a neighbor finds a job that supports

their family, or when more people are safe, healthy, and hopeful. There is strength in numbers. When you get involved with United Way of Etowah

County, you're joining others in a powerful movement to create brighter futures and lasting change. Whether your gift is large or small, it’s combined

with others to make a greater impact—right here at home. Being part of United Way means being part of something bigger than ourselves. Together, we

can do so much more. Together, we LIVE UNITED.

Why Give to united Way

We've Done the Homework for You

When you give to United Way, your dollars are carefully managed. We ensure that our Community Partners are truly making a difference—providing

effective, needed services, and improving lives. You can feel confident that your gift is being used wisely.

Your Gift Helps Many

Choosing one cause can be difficult—so why not support a network? United Way funding reaches many agencies, each meeting different needs. And

that’s important, because most people facing challenges have more than one. Take, for example, a woman fleeing domestic violence. She doesn’t just

need shelter—she needs clothing, food, job support, child care, and long-term stability. United Way supports a network of agencies that work together

to help people rebuild their lives fully and sustainably.

Your Gift Leverages More Funding

Did you know that many of our Community Partners use United Way dollars to unlock even more funding? Local United Way support often serves as

the “match” required for federal, state, and private grants. That means your gift doesn’t just support one agency—it helps them bring in even more

resources to do good for our community. That’s a WIN-WIN for all of us!

Our Vision for the Future

United Way continues to support basic needs and safety-net services—but we’re also investing in long-term change. We're focused on building lasting

solutions that help individuals and families not just survive, but thrive. Our Board of Directors and community leaders are working to identify the

most urgent challenges in our region and guide resources toward outcome-driven programs that create measurable, long-term impact. This is our

commitment: to improve lives, strengthen families, and help our community grow—now and for generations to come.
